My thoughts on the evolution of metallica
Metallica is arguably one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever. Their fan base has covered a generation and young people today are heading to their concerts in droves. It’s no wonder they are still as popular today as when they first entered the rock scene twenty years ago.
It all started when Metallica was first formed back in the 1980s. However, they didn’t start turning heads until the 1990s began. Heavy metal fans realized how unique their sound was and from there it all become history.
The band has faced some pretty difficult hardships along the way including the death of one of the founding members. Bassist Cliff Burton was killed when the bus the band was traveling on flipped on an icy road. The three remaining members of the band weren’t sure they wanted to move forward minus Burton, but luckily for fans all around the world they did.
Jason Newstead joined the band at this point. Newstead has become a celebrity of sorts again recently with his starring role on the reality show “SuperNova.” In fact, Newstead’s presence on the show has renewed interest in Metallica and the music they were producing while he was a member.
Recently the band has again undergone some changes, but this time it’s been behind the scenes. The band’s producer left after a fifteen-year relationship. The band has carried on though and last year debuted a couple of new songs in Japan. Ironically enough, the band hadn’t yet named the songs and referred to them as “The New Song” and “The Other New Song.”
Over the years some of the faces in the band may have changed but the sound has remained the same. Metallica is a strong and stable heavy metal band that has a growing fan base all over the world.
