Paris Hilton
Like most people, I find celebrities fascinating. They seem to live the good life, traveling around the globe to attend parties, they walk the red carpet and they seem to make more money in a day than most of us make in a year. Yet, when you get right down to it, they are just regular folks.
Well, most celebrities are, but there are a few that defy the “regular folk” title. One of those is Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton burst onto the celebrity scene a few years ago. She’s everywhere now, at many hot parties, on all the entertainment shows and now she’s even cut a CD. But the real question is, why is Paris Hilton a celebrity in the first place?
My reasoning is that it’s because she’s a genius at marketing herself. Here’s a beautiful young woman who is the heiress of a very large hotel chain fortune. Her claim to fame was that she was pretty and rich. But so are many other young women. Yet Paris Hilton used that as a springboard to get herself noticed.
It started out with her being a runway model and doing quite well with that. She certainly had the looks of a model with her tall, slender body and her piercing blue eyes. But it quickly became apparent that Paris Hilton wanted to be more than just a pretty face.
Now she’s starred in movies, had her own television show, and become a pop singer. I’ve heard the first single off her album and I have to admit, I like it. I think Paris Hilton is going to sell a fair number of CD’s and surprise many of her skeptics.
Even if you don’t understand the fascination with Paris Hilton, you have to admit that the girl knows how to keep herself in the spotlight.
